As it is the beginning of a new calendar year, I wish you all peace, love and healing. While I believe every day is a new beginning, these statutory holidays remind us that we can begin again - wth new goals, activities, intentions to help us improve our relationships with ourselves and others. It seems easier to mark the calendar with deadlines - in one month I will... by June I will - or by next year, I will.
So I wonder....
What are your goals?
Where would you like to see some improvement? - be it with your health, relationships, finances.work...your diet, exercise,...your children, parents, close friends. I am sure the topic is clear in your mind - where you wish for an easier way of being.
What does "an improvement" look like - envision the new goal...be specific with details...
Here's an example - "I will have paid off all credit cards and have $10,000 in savings by June, 2025"
I truly believe though that the first place we need to start, is with our self.. Some questions:
Where do I need to improve my relationship with myself...
How am I at self love? what does that actually mean?
How often so I say "I need to treat myself" when it involves spending money you don't have, or eating or drinking things that are not good for you?
What resources will help me meet my goals?
Who are my "cheerleaders' - those people who will support me in meeting my goals.
Good luck with your plan - let me know if I can help - shelley@karrelcounselling.com
